ATL Tour Program

ATL Tours encourage youth to explore careers in aviation, and they offer business and civic organizations a closer look at the world’s busiest and most efficient airport. Guided tours are offered year-round on a first-come, first-served basis. Tours are not available on Mondays or Fridays, on federal holidays or during the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s or the Fourth of July. There is a 10-person minimum and 25-person maximum. Participants must be at least 8 years old. Please submit the form below no later than 21 days before your requested tour date. Tours will start at 9 a.m. or 10 a.m. and last 1 ½ to 3 hours. Please choose two dates for consideration.

ATL Tour Options

Each tour will begin with an overview of Airport operations. Please review the following ATL Tour options and select two preferences.

Airfield / E-Tower

On the Airfield Tour, you will see passenger and cargo planes on our taxiway as well as get an amazing view of the Atlanta skyline from Stogner Hill. Your tour of the E-tower will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the technical work that goes into keeping the airfield running smoothly (must be able to climb 69 steps).

Airfield / Fire Station

In addition to visiting the Airfield, you will tour our Fire Station, which always appeals to younger visitors. Here, our firefighters will give you a complete tour of the fire station and discuss how they work together as a team, and they’ll even show you the specialized fire equipment used at the Airport.

Walk Through History / Flight Paths / Zimbabwe Exhibit

Hartsfield-Jackson passengers who walk between concourses will learn some amazing history lessons and take in some of the Airport’s award-winning art, including “Flight Paths.”

SkyTrain / Plane Train Control Systems

Go on a behind-the-scenes tour of the operations center of the ATL SkyTrain, the elevated train that connects the Domestic Terminal to the Rental Car Center and the Georgia International Convention Center. Also, learn the ins and outs of the Airport’s underground Plane Train, which connects all concourses with the Domestic and International terminals.

Airport Art Program

This tour gives you an up-close look at the Airport Art Program, which develops and integrates art, exhibits and performances into the fabric of the ATL environment.
