Krystel T. Davis

Airport Deputy General Manager, Administration and People Strategy

Krystel T. Davis serves as the deputy general manager of Administration and People Strategy for the Department of Aviation, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. In this capacity, she is responsible for collaborating with the general manager and executive team on long-term strategy and translating strategic goals into operational plans. Ms. Davis also has oversight of several functional areas, including talent management, workforce development, workplace safety, business services, and employee services.

 

Prior to joining ATL, Ms. Davis served as the Director of Human Resources for the Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA), owner/operator of Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall Airport) and Martin State Airport. In this capacity, she was responsible for the development and execution of human resource management strategies in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction. Responsibility in this role included oversight and management in the areas of position management, recruitment/retention, classification and compensation, payroll, employee benefits, and employer/employee relations.

 

Krystel T. Davis firmly established a reputation for streamlining and implementing processes and systems to allow organizations to effectively attract and recruit diverse pools of applicants. She was instrumental in the procurement, design, testing, and implementation of several software systems needed to streamline key processes, including serving as a key member of the project team for the Maryland Department of Transportation Human Resource Information System (HRIS).

 

During her time at MAA, Ms. Davis successfully created and implemented an internship program for experiential learning that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skills development in the aviation industry. While serving as the manager of Human Resources Services for MAA, Ms. Davis successfully developed a system that aligned organizational needs with the competencies required to effectively perform. As a result, she was appointed to the Maryland Department of Transportation’s Tangible Results Committee as a Performance Measure Driver.

 

Ms. Davis holds a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in human resources management from Loyola University, where she graduated with honors. An active member of several trade and professional associations, she holds a SHRM-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification, a Lean Six Sigma Process Improvement certification, as well as a Competent Communicator certification from Toastmasters International. The Chicago native has been an active participant on several committees within various organizations, including serving as VP of Programs for the AMAC Baltimore-Washington chapter and vice chair for the Executive Search Firm Committee for AMAC.
