GIRLS IN AVIATION CAREER EXPO

Hartsfield-Jackson serves as a sponsor of the Girls in Aviation Day, hosted by Women in Aviation, Atlanta chapter Gone with the Wind. The event aims to expose hundreds of metro Atlanta youth to the aviation industry through challenging and exciting activities.
PIANOS FOR PEACE

Pianos for Peace is an annual arts festival in Atlanta from Sept. 1 – 21. Pianos — painted, decorated and re-tooled by volunteers — are placed on display in iconic areas with heavy foot traffic throughout the city. The nonprofit makes the pianos accessible to the community for one goal: to build peace through music and education. When the campaign ends, ATL’s Aviation Education schools receive donated pianos and have an opportunity to perform in the Airport’s Domestic Terminal atrium.
NATIONAL HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH AVIATION EDUCATION PROGRAM

In conjunction with Hispanic Heritage Month, ATL celebrates Latino Heritage Month. The goal of the program at Hartsfield-Jackson is to celebrate cultural diversity, expose the youth to industry careers, inspire leadership characteristics, and enlighten Latino American students through a firsthand experience with prominent Latino American aviation leaders.
CLAYTON COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PRINCIPAL PARTNER’S

Hartsfield-Jackson serves as a sponsor of the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce’s annual Principal Partner’s Day with Clayton County Public Schools. Aviation executives serve as volunteers for a day to share business insight with school leaders. Many participating companies become business partners with the schools and provide additional support throughout the school year.
ATL’S AIRPORT COMMUNITY CAREER FAIR

Economic empowerment and strengthening communities are the guiding principles of the ATL’s Airport Community Career Fair. Each fall and spring, ATL invites the public to seek employment opportunities and information about industry careers from more than 60 employers at Hartsfield-Jackson.
AERO ATL CAREER EXPO

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the Airport community will serve as exhibitors during the Aero ATL Careers Expo, organized by the Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance. ATL will stage a “Careers in Aviation” row to include companies with business operations at the world’s busiest airport. The program, dedicated to 11th and 12th graders, aims to create awareness about the needs of today’s workforce and cultivate local talent to strengthen Georgia’s future workforce.

Though our collective impact, the next generation of leaders are exposed to the myriad of careers in the aviation industry. This opportunity serves as a way to cultivate local talent and strengthen our future workforce.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the ATL community hosts an annual holiday program for first-graders from Airport-area schools. Each year, 400 students participate in an enriching morning of learning games and fun surprises at the Delta Air Lines Flight Museum. As a bonus, ATL stakeholders provide each youngster with a gift bag filled with toys and school supplies.

March marks the time of the year when the nation commemorates National Women’s History Month, which celebrates the extraordinary achievements of women who have enriched our lives. ATL invites high school female leaders to participate in a behind-the-scenes tour of ATL and a mentoring program with high-ranking executive women who serve in nontraditional career disciplines.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the ATL community support local elementary schools that face challenges with students’ literacy performance. Executives dedicate two hours out of their day to read and inspire the youth to become lifelong learners.
ATL BRING YOUR CHILD TO WORK DAY

ATL celebrates National Bring your Sons and Daughters to Work Day by hosting its annual Bring Your Child to Work Day. Airport employee children, ages 6 to 17, are invited to a daylong program where the youth tour several ATL facilities and learn more about working at the world’s busiest passenger airport. This year, the Federal Aviation Administration shared the importance of STEM subjects across various careers in aviation.
