Hartsfield-Jackson Prepares for City of Atlanta Smoking and Vaping Ban
ATLANTA –
Effective Jan, 2, 2020, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) will be a smoke-free environment, prohibiting all smoking and vaping inside the Airport. In accordance with City of Atlanta Ordinance 19-O-1205, restaurants inside ATL will discontinue smoking availability and all smoking rooms inside of the Airport will close on the evening of January 1, 2020.
Airport officials will speak in detail about the changes that will occur at ATL once the smoking ban goes into effect, what constitutes smoking/vaping, and how the Airport will accommodate passengers and Airport employees who do smoke/vape.
This briefing will offer media participants an opportunity to visit one of the 15 new outdoor designated smoking locations and include a visual aide for on-air reference.
