Hartsfield-Jackson to Host 2023 ATL Summer Youth Employment Program

Professional experience offered for more than 100 Atlanta-area youth

ATLANTA – Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) will host the 2023 ATL Summer Youth Employment Program from June 8 to July 28. In keeping with Mayor Andre Dickens’ “Year of the Youth” initiative, the ATL Summer Youth Employment Program – in its second year – will welcome more than 100 Atlanta-area youth for employment at the world’s busiest airport. This program offers a unique, paid opportunity for selected participants, exposing them to the 250 disciplines and occupations within the Airport. The program details and application link are below. The deadline for students to apply is March 17.

 

Program Details

 

Airport-Provided Incentives:

$15/hour (Monday-Friday, hours to be determined) MARTA cards, daily lunch until first paycheck is received, and uniform shirts are included.

 

Program Duration: June 8, 2023 - July 28, 2023

 

Minimum Criteria: 

High school students must be enrolled and at least 16 years old on or before June 8, 2023. At the time of application, students must be a rising sophomore, junior, senior or recently graduated senior (May 2023). They must attend an Airport-area high school (i.e., Atlanta Public Schools, Clayton County Schools, Fulton County Schools). The ideal candidate must commit to the entire program from June 8, 2023 July 28, 2023. Other skills necessary are the desire to connect passengers traveling to and through ATL with a quality and positive experience. Applicants must have an interest in careers in aviation (customer service, operations, public administration and maintenance). A desire to build upon and improve interpersonal and communication skills is essential. Students must have a willingness to learn in a professional work environment and receive feedback for development. They must understand the value of teamwork and how to contribute to team goals, and must have an outgoing personality. An interest in customer service, marketing, ground transportation, parking is also required. Good interpersonal and communication skills are a must.
