Hartsfield-Jackson Hosts 2023 ATLNext Industry Day and Maynard H. Jackson Jr. Legacy Awards
Annual event supports small businesses, diversity and inclusion
ATLANTA – Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) hosted the eighth annual ATLNext Industry Day and the fifth annual Maynard H. Jackson Jr. Legacy Awards on Tuesday, March 21 in the Georgia International Convention Center. Designed to educate and inspire the small business community, the event included updates to ATLNext, the Airport’s multibillion-dollar capital improvement program and the Maynard H. Jackson Jr. Legacy Awards. This year’s exhibit hall welcomed 450 registrants and 32 exhibitors.
During the sessions, participants learned about upcoming projects, contracting opportunities and tips on doing business with ATL. Attendees were provided vital information, resources and a networking platform for diverse contractors.
The Maynard H. Jackson, Jr. Legacy Awards honor businesses and individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. Awards and 2023 award recipients are:
TRIUMPH AWARD
This award honors an ATLNext small business owner who has demonstrated a positive commitment to their communities and supports the inclusion of other small businesses on ATL projects. The award recognizes exemplary achievements and innovative practices in identifying, utilizing, mentoring and/or growing such firms.
Recipient: MAXIMUS Construction Services
LEADERSHIP AWARD
This award honors a recognized leader who embraces diversity and inclusion, applies innovative practices, and consistently demonstrates outstanding commitment towards utilization, growth and development of small (SBE)-, minority (MBE)- and female (FBE)-owned firms.
Recipient: Mary Parker – CEO, ALL N ONE Security Services
SOAR AWARD
This award honors an ATLNext Joint Venture team that consistently demonstrates a commitment to diversity and inclusion by utilizing small, minority, and women-owned firms on ATL projects. The award recipient shows exemplary performance by actively participating in ATLNext outreach events and consistently meeting or exceeding the City of Atlanta’s Mayor's Office of Contract Compliance SBO/EBO/DBE utilization plans.
Recipient: Clark, Atkinson, and Technique Joint Venture
SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD
This award goes to a person or persons who are an asset to the Business Diversity team. Their leadership, expertise, dependability and hard work contribute greatly to the success of ATLNext Industry Day.
