Six individuals were charged for operating as non-registered rideshare drivers
ATLANTA – The Atlanta Police Department, in collaboration with ATL Enforcement, executed a successful undercover operation aimed at curtailing unauthorized rideshare activities at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) on Friday, March 15.
During the operation, six individuals were cited for operating as non-registered rideshare drivers. Additionally, several individuals were arrested for violating Airport regulations. Two violators attempted to evade law enforcement but were swiftly identified, and their vehicle tag numbers were documented for subsequent legal action.
The Atlanta Airport Police Department remains dedicated in its mission to maintain a secure and orderly environment at ATL. These operations will continue as part of a comprehensive strategy to deter and apprehend individuals engaged in illegal rideshare activities.
"This successful operation highlights our unwavering dedication to ensuring the safety and security of all individuals within our airport,” said Airport General Manager Balram Bheodari. “We will continue to collaborate with our law enforcement partners to enforce regulations and maintain the highest standards of service excellence."
"Our team and ATL Enforcement worked tirelessly to execute this operation seamlessly, and the results speak for themselves,” said APD Airport Precinct Maj. Kelley Collier III. “We remain vigilant in our efforts to identify and apprehend individuals who disregard airport regulations, defending the well-being of our passengers and the integrity of our operations."
