MARTA and Hartsfield-Jackson to Host Joint Press Conference on Rail Station Project
Airport Station to Temporarily Close for Renovation April 8 - May 19
Shuttle Service Provided Between College Park Station & Airport
ATLANTA –The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) will partner with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) as it closes the Airport Station for six weeks from Monday, April 8 through Sunday, May 19. The closure will allow the renovation of the concourse and platform levels of the station.
MARTA service will continue to and from ATL via a bus shuttle between College Park Station and the North Terminal Lower Level (doors LN1 & LN2), located downstairs from the North Baggage Claim area. Shuttles will run 22 hours a day, from 4 a.m. to 2 a.m.
The joint press conference will outline the project and shuttle service.
MARTA General Manager and CEO Collie Greenwood will be joined by Airport General Manager Balram “B” Bheodari, MARTA Chief Capital Officer Carrie Rocha, and Atlanta City Councilmember and Transportation Committee Chair Byron Amos, as well as members of the Airport Station Project team.
After the program, members of the project team will be available to walk the site and provide additional details on the upcoming work, as well as demonstrate where to catch the shuttle.
