Hartsfield-Jackson Honors American Hero and Civil Rights Icon John Lewis

“Good Trouble” highlights legacy, triumph in art display

ATLANTA –  Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) honor Congressman John Lewis by unveiling “Good Trouble: A Tribute to Congressman John Lewis,” a wall exhibit in the Domestic Terminal atrium. The idea to honor the civil rights icon at ATL was birthed by Councilperson Andre Dickens and John Lewis’ task force.

“Good Trouble: A Tribute to Congressman John Lewis” will feature — among other artifacts — his Presidential Medal of Freedom. Congressman Lewis’ 5th District houses Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport – the world’s busiest passenger airport and economic engine to the region. ATL, often referred to by Congressman Lewis and other leaders as “the jewel in Atlanta’s crown,” is honored to present this notable tribute to an American hero.

ATL’s award-winning Art Program recommended Gary Lee Super as lead designer of the epochal tribute to Congressman Lewis. Among Mr. Super’s credits: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Papers exhibit at the Atlanta History Center and two of Hartsfield-Jackson’s highly successful installations — “A Walk Through Atlanta History” and the U.S. Military Service Wall of Honor.
