Wings for All lands at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

Hundreds benefit from program to help individuals with disabilities

ATLANTA –  Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), The Arc of Georgia and Delta Air Lines in partnership with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will host the 4th annual Wings for All (formerly Wings for Autism) event April 9. Wings for All is an airport “rehearsal” program designed to alleviate the angst associated with air travel by individuals with special needs and families who have a child with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

In addition to providing a safe environment for passengers to become acclimated with the nuances of air travel, Wings for All gives airport, airline, TSA professionals and other personnel the opportunity to observe, interact and deliver services in a structured learning environment.

During the event, over 250 participants will check in to receive their boarding passes, pass through the TSA security checkpoint, wait in the boarding area and board the aircraft. Participants will also learn about the aircraft’s features, in-flight safety protocols and take-off procedures.

As the busiest passenger airport in the world, ATL was selected as the first to unveil the Wings for All logo.
