Hartsfield-Jackson Celebrates the Holiday Season

Tree-lighting ceremony starts monthlong celebration of events

ATLANTA – Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) officials will welcome the holiday season with a tree-lighting ceremony in the Airport’s Domestic Terminal atrium on Thursday, Nov. 29. ATL leaders will join diplomatic guests, holiday carolers, employees and volunteers to kick off one of the busiest travel seasons of the year. Immediately following the tree-lighting ceremony, ATL’s holiday celebration will begin. The Airport and its partners will offer live holiday music throughout the facility, which will be decorated to celebrate the season.

In addition to holiday decorations in the Airport, a unique annual tradition continues in the Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal as holiday trees decorated by representatives of Atlanta’s Consular Corps will be illuminated. Twelve trees, displaying ornaments themed to each participating nation, have become a popular spot for visitors to stop and photograph.
