Hartsfield-Jackson South Roadway Closures to Impact Traffic Tonight
Airport officials advise of new traffic patterns and alternate drop-off and pickup locations
ATLANTA – Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 16, the entire South upper roadway will be closed to vehicles nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. to facilitate construction. All traffic going to the South Terminal will be directed to use the lower level roadway. ATL officials urge passengers to plan more time into their trip to the Airport and utilize the following mitigation efforts:
Use the North Domestic Terminal for drop-offs and pickups. Lower level is always the best option.
Use the South hourly parking deck.
If the passenger is not checking bags for their flight or claiming bags at ATL upon arrival, consider using Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal for drop-offs and pickups.
Utilize MARTA and rideshare services to ease traffic impacts.
Atlanta traffic control officers will be on hand to ensure safe, efficient travel through construction areas. ATL will provide updates across all its social media channels.
