Hartsfield-Jackson Calls Attention to Human Trafficking Awareness Month Monthlong series of events will inform and educate ATL stakeholders about human trafficking

ATLANTA – Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) officials will mark Human Trafficking Awareness Month with a series of events designed to inform the public about the dangers of — and toll from — human trafficking. From a press conference involving state and local law enforcement officials discussing their efforts at combating human trafficking to a high school community outreach forum, ATL leaders intend to educate the public about sexual exploitation and forced labor, and inform Airport stakeholders and the region at large about efforts to combat trafficking.

The most public-facing event will be a press conference featuring law enforcement leaders from across the region on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

National Human Trafficking Awareness Month was established by presidential decree in 2010 and has contributed to the fight against human trafficking in the United States.

Additional information on the various efforts at ATL will be provided at Tuesday’s press conference.
