Hartsfield-Jackson, TSA Prepare for Start of Busy Summer Travel Season 1.7 million travelers expected over Memorial holiday in ATL

ATLANTA -Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), Transportation Security   Administration (TSA) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials will discuss the upcoming Memorial Day travel period during a media availability on Tuesday, May 22. ATL officials will share safety tips, travel projections and prohibited items. In addition, new safety measures will be presented along with timesaving tips for passengers. Approximately 1.7 million travelers are expected to travel through ATL over the Memorial Day weekend, which runs from Thursday to Tuesday. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, TSA expects to screen more than 243 million passengers across the U.S., which will make 2018 the busiest year on record.
