Hartsfield-Jackson to Implode Former Sheraton Hotel Tower

The 14-story tower will be demolished by implosion

 

ATLANTA – Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) today announced that the Department of Aviation plans to implode the 14-story tower of the former Sheraton Hotel, located at 1900 Sullivan Road, on Sept. 5 at approximately 7:30 a.m. The ATL Department of Communications and Public Affairs is offering an opportunity for media outlets to capture and document this unique event. A staging area will be made available to members of the media only. The remaining components of the former hotel and conference center will be demolished through more traditional means by November 2021.
