Hartsfield-Jackson Readies For Labor Day Travel
Tips, updates as travelers prepare for final holiday weekend of the summer
ATLANTA – Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) officials are readying for the upcoming Labor Day holiday with tips for travelers and reminders that passengers should arrive in the Airport at least two hours prior to their departure time. While not as busy as other holiday weekends, Labor Day 2021 travel projections are higher than typical weekend figures. Passengers should plan accordingly.
“We’ve had a productive summer season and, as we celebrate this last holiday weekend of the summer, we expect to see travel figures increase,” said ATL General Manager Balram “B” Bheodari. “We encourage our passengers to visit our website and monitor our social media for the latest travel tips and information.”
The Airport’s website (www.ATL.com) provides real-time updates on parking availability, security wait times, and current concessionaire offerings. Social media channels operated by the Airport (@ATLAirport) also offer immediate operational information to the Airport community.
Some 1.3 million passengers are expected to travel to, from, or through Hartsfield-Jackson during the holiday weekend stretching from Thursday, Sept. 2 to Tuesday, Sept. 7. Friday and Saturday of the weekend are expected to be the busiest days, with more than 230,000 passengers expected each day.
