Hartsfield-Jackson Commemorates 20th Anniversary of Sept. 11
Ceremony will honor the victims, first responders of 9/11 attacks

ATLANTA – Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials will hold a remembrance service, “Patriot Day at ATL: A Promise to Protect,” to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.
ATL General Manager Balram Bheodari, TSA Federal Security Director Robert Spinden and other federal and Airport officials will provide remarks during the morning ceremony. It will also include a presentation of colors by the TSA ATL Honor Guard and a musical selection. A pause in operations and moment of silence will be observed throughout the Airport at 8:46 a.m. to honor and remember those who lost their lives.
In addition to hosting the ceremony, the ATL canopies will be illuminated in blue from Sept. 8-11 to commemorate the event’s anniversary.
