POST-SECURITY EVENT – MEDIA PLEASE SEE NOTE BELOW
ATLANTA – Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) in partnership with The Arc Georgia and Delta Air Lines will host Wings for All on April 11. This unique program provides a flying rehearsal for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) such as autism or Down syndrome. Participants will practice preparing for air travel by packing their bags, traveling to the airport, passing through security, and boarding a plane – many for the first time.
Founded by The Arc in 2014, Wings for All has held more than 180 events to make air travel more accessible. The goal is to alleviate the stress and unfamiliarity of air travel for individuals and families, and educate TSA, airport, and airline personnel on ways they can support travelers of all ages with IDD.
