Hartsfield-Jackson and MARTA to Unveil New Public Artwork at Airport Station

New artwork enhances passenger experience at ATL’s MARTA station

ATLANTA – Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), in partnership with MARTA, will unveil a new public artwork by Michael Jones at the MARTA Airport Station. This 70-foot mosaic tile installation marks a continued commitment to integrating art into public spaces and enhancing the passenger experience.

The ceremony will feature remarks from MARTA and ATL leadership, a ceremonial unveiling of the artwork, and photo opportunities. The new mosaic tile artwork represents the shared cultural significance of public art within Atlanta’s transportation hubs, including the world’s busiest airport.

The event will celebrate the new artwork and the broader rehabilitation efforts at Airport Station, which include new terrazzo flooring, platform pavers, and enhanced lighting. The $55 million project to modernize this vital transit hub is funded through MARTA’s State of Good Repair program.
