Scheduled Power Shutdowns at Hartsfield-Jackson’s Domestic Terminal
Travelers should anticipate visible disruptions during three overnight outages
ATLANTA — For three nights, the Domestic Terminal at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) will undergo scheduled power outages to test emergency lighting. These temporary shutdowns are necessary to upgrade ATL’s electrical systems, which support operations and ensure long-term resiliency. Lighting, escalators, elevators, and major terminal systems will be offline between 11:59 p.m. and 2:30 a.m. on June 30, July 2, and July 8. Travelers are encouraged to plan accordingly and follow Airport signage and staff instructions.
WHAT: ATL will conduct three scheduled overnight power shutdowns at the Domestic Terminal as part of a long-term infrastructure plan to achieve 100% electrical resilience.
