Rescheduled Power Shutdowns at Hartsfield-Jackson’s Domestic Terminal Begin July 8
Travelers should anticipate visible disruptions during four overnight outages
ATLANTA — The postponed planned power outages to test emergency lighting in the Domestic Terminal at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) are scheduled to begin this week. These temporary shutdowns are necessary to upgrade ATL’s electrical systems, which support operations and ensure long-term reliability. Lighting, escalators, elevators, and major terminal systems will be offline between 11:59 p.m. and 2:30 a.m. on July 8, July 9, July 14, and July 15. These outages will occur, as planned, unless irregular airport operations necessitate postponement. Travelers are encouraged to plan accordingly and follow Airport signage and staff instructions.
WHAT: ATL will conduct three scheduled overnight power shutdowns at the Domestic Terminal as part of a long-term infrastructure plan to achieve 100% electrical resilience.
