What are the current operating hours for the Security Office?

The Credentialing Office continues to operate with the same business hours; however, availability is subject to change as we prioritize core Airport operations and employee safety.

COVID-19 recovery impact to operating hours and office operations

  • Managing the number of available service appointments to meet the demands of airport stakeholders
  • Enhanced and increased cleaning protocols
  • Hand sanitizer and alcohol wipes available for staff and customers
  • Plexiglass partitions are installed at service locations and training room

What are the current fingerprint requirements?

All applicants fingerprinted by the Airport on or after Feb. 1, 2018 have now been enrolled in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Next Generation Identification (NGI), Record of Arrests and Prosecutions (Rap) Back service. The Rap Back service enables the Security Credentialing Office to receive ongoing status notifications of any subsequent criminal history information changes reported for individuals who have submitted fingerprints as part of a Criminal History Record Check (CHRC). As of February 2020, Rap Back eliminates the requirement to capture new fingerprints every two years for applicants of ATL Security badges.

Air carriers and government agencies that provide their own CHRC certifications are still subject to the appropriate Transportation Security Administration regulations.

Currently, applicants can renew a badge up to 30 days after it expires and will not need new fingerprints provided the clearance status can be validated by our staff. A renewal appointment is required to schedule services. Also, new fingerprint clearance letters are now valid for 60 days after the applicant fingerprinted provided the clearance status can be validated by staff.

Enrollment in the Rap Back service is not applicable for employees under the following circumstances (employees must be fingerprinted):

  • Applicants switching to a new company
  • Renewal applicants with Customs seal
  • Applicants with expired badges
  • Company name changes

What are the current on-site training requirements?

On-site security training requirements still apply for first-time SIDA and NON-SIDA badge applicants as identified on the Security Identification Badge Application and Authorized Signatory training (new and renewal).

If an employee has previously passed the latest SIDA or Sterile Security training, a new training button will display for “Recurrent Security (SIDA)” or “Recurrent Sterile Area (NON-SIDA)” training. It will allow employees to take the test-only portion and satisfy training for renewal only without taking the on-site training.

If an employee has not taken the new version of the on-site SIDA or Sterile Area Training, he or she will not see the online option until they have passed the latest on-site training.

Email SecurityID@Atl.com to schedule a virtual New Company Orientation and/or New Authorized Signatory Training.

What are the current online training requirements?

The online training platform is available using the most recent Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome browsers for desktop/laptop PCs, as well as Apple iOS and Android mobile devices. Note that Microsoft Internet Explorer is not supported for the online training platform.

For access to online training, visit https://atl.iet-ls.com.

Employees starting a new or renewal application process will require the following trainings every two years:

  • Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Customer Service
  • Fire/Safety Evacuation
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • Human Trafficking Awareness
  • Active Shooter Training
  • Non-Movement Area Driver (only required if you will be driving on the airfield)

What has been updated on the Security Identification Badge Application?

The new application includes the required online Human Trafficking training and Active Shooter training.

  • SIDA application is in PDF format and must be typed in.

What are the current badge requirements?

For ATL Security badge requests, the Authorized Signatory must ensure that each employee is in possession of the following items for processing:

  • Most recent fingerprint clearance letter for applicants fingerprinted on or after Feb. 1, 2018
  • Completed type written Security Identification Badge Application
  • Required forms of identification
  • Satisfactory completion of required training as listed on the badge application
  • Appointment for the applicable service

Currently, applicants can renew a badge up to 30 days after it expires and will not need new fingerprints provided the clearance status can be validated by our staff. A renewal appointment is required to schedule services. New fingerprint clearance letters are now valid for 90 days after the applicant fingerprinted provided the clearance status can be validated by staff.

What is the Credentialing office doing to address temporarily furloughed employees?

COVID-19 recovery impact to the furlough process:

  • Furloughed badges must be renewed before expiration

How do I submit card reader access requests?

All requests will be reviewed and approved/denied based on the company justification.

What additional information is needed when submitting escort requests?

A minimum of 24 hours advance notice is required for all escort approvals. The maximum number of persons that can be escorted is five (5). How can an employee get their badge back after receiving a Breach of Rules Notice?
